A story of an amazing creature! (Chapter-1)

In the 19th century; It begins in Cambodia, Southeast Asia. An old man is enjoying the view of the beautiful sunset while sitting on an old dirty chair. He lives in his poor house near a jungle. He is about 60 years old, but physically so strong and healthy. He has a scruffy beard and messy hair. He always hides them under his black hat. Suddenly many birds fly over his head from the opposite side of sunset. He looked behind and sees the smoke flame. He thinks, “ I guess some nonsense people are burning something in the jungle, anyway I’ll check that tomorrow morning. It will be dark soon. I should go inside for now. ”
(Next Day)
Today he woke up early in the morning according to his routine. He took his breakfast in which he ate the meat of rabbit which he quarried yesterday. Then he holds up his self-made bow and hangs up the quiver in which he put his ax and an arrow. Now he is ready to go to the jungle in search of prey.
He is in the jungle, surrounded by tall and old trees. He is going further and further inside the jungle. At last, he finds a hare near the trunk of a tree. He pulls out the arrow from the quiver. And set his aim on a hare. He releases the arrow, which directly hits on the neck of a hare. It died instantly. He went near it and put that in the quiver by cutting off its head with his ax.
Now he knows what he is going to eat today. But still, he needs dried sticks to burn so he can able to grill. He starts searching for them. He got to remember while searching that he saw some smoke yesterday from somewhere in the jungle. Maybe he will find some dried sticks there.
He finally reached on that burned place which was not burned exactly. He sees that this place is absolutely fine, all trees and plants are complete alright then what kind of smoke did he see yesterday ?. He is confused. He couldn’t found any human signs as well.
He doesn’t make this thing his headache. He just ignores and starts collecting desire sticks. He was picking up sticks one after one from different parts of that place, and he saw a stick near an old tree. He went there and picked that up. Suddenly he saw a big hole about the size of his hand in the trunk of that tree. That hole was surrounded by soot. It cleared that the smoke was coming out of it. “Why or how ?”, It was still a mystery. He went home after all this.
It’s again an evening time. He is improving his archery skill in front of his house. He is about to come inside the house but all of sudden he noticed that once again the smoke is coming out of that place. Now he is still confused. At this moment he decided to get the answer of this strange phenomenon.
(Next Day)
The old man woke up early as usual. He holds up his weapons and goes to the jungle. This time, he directly goes to that place. He is standing in front of that tree. He touches that soot with his finger, and he realizes that the soot is quite fresh. He searches around the tree to find something helpful to understand the present scenario. He saw a strange view next to that tree. He sees that a sapling is growing up from the rock. He thinks it wasn’t here yesterday.
He decides that he will stay here till evening, but he doesn’t have to wait that long. He was staring at that sapling. He just slept after an hour while staring. He wakes up at noontide. When he woke up. He sees that the sapling is double in size. And the smoke was coming out of that tree hole.
He stands up and goes near the tree. He sees inside that hole. He couldn’t see anything but a strange smell was coming out of a tree. It seems like someone is burning hair. It was a too bad smell. He couldn’t understand what happened when he was sleeping.
There was still so much time in the evening. So, he decides to stay awake this time. After about 2 hours, he sees that a squirrel is wandering in front of him. It suddenly went near that sapling. The squirrel is about to damage that sapling. The roots of an old tree move, grab the squirrel and pull that under the ground. Then the smoke starts coming out of that tree. He just got too much afraid after seeing this view and runs from there madly.
He has reached home. He is breathing heavily. He drinks water and sits and thinks about the incident which was just happened in front of him. He calmed down himself and thought, “ Why didn’t that tree hurt him?”. Once again, He was answered less.
Now he just see the smoke from his house daily but unable to encourage himself to visit that place again.

(After a week)
He is starving. He didn’t eat anything properly for a week. He has to encourage and go to the jungle again to prey. He knows if he doesn’t go or stays home. He’ll die with hunger. So, He made his mind and prepared himself to go to the jungle. This time he also took his old Browning Auto-5 gun with him. Now he was ready to go.
He is in the jungle and searching for prey for 3 hours but he couldn’t found anything yet. He is tired now. He needs to eat something. At last, he takes a break and sits under the shade of a tree. Suddenly he heard the chirp of birds from that tree. He looks up and sees that there were two parrots sitting on the branch. He pulls up his arrow out from the quiver, set his aim and shoot. One of them parrot fell down with an arrow. He catches that and sees the hole of that strange tree.
He couldn’t understand how did he come here, but he was there. He sees on the left side of that tree, and He couldn’t believe his eyes because now that sapling was a 6-foot tree with strange fruit and it has a strange structure. He encourages himself to went near it.
He stepped forward towards the young plant. It has a white trunk, no leaves, bending at one side, and only a single circle shape object was linked on the top of it. It was looking like its fruit. Its size was equivalent to the size of a football. He was unaware of that what he was going to see after closely examining that fruit. Finally, he went near it, and he was shocked. He sees that the fruit is breathing. It was a live fruit. There was something inside it.
He turned around, and he sees that a jackal was standing behind him. He tries to pull out his gun, but then he realized that his weapons are there where he stayed. He gradually moves and hides behind that young tree. Jackal ran and jumped to attack. The roots of an old tree moved once again and grabbed that jackal and pull that under the ground. Jackal makes a sound for help. 4 jackals gathered there within a minute, but he had already climbed over that old tree in that minute. Now jackals were trying to damage that young tree, but the old one was protecting it. The old man now thinks that he won’t have any danger from this tree as it protects him and that young tree. So, He climbed off the tree and went back home.
